What was your first thought when you found out you were going to be a dad and has it been easier or harder than you thought?
I think my first thought was joy followed by the thought of am I ready for this, but I also knew that I wanted to be a great father. With that energy there everything will somewhat guide itself. As far as it being easier or harder than I thought, I think it's been everything I expected plus more. I'm still grateful for this experience nonetheless.
Women go through their own set of challenges being first time moms, that they sometimes forget that the father is new at this too. What were some challenges you faced?
I'll give it to women their challenges are far greater than ours. I think as a father my problem was monetary initially. Just because you want to give your child a great life; the one you've always envisioned. Eventually, or at least for me, you start to care about the time spent to view all the special moments. Being there to help celebrate my son's accomplishments; it's bigger than money.
What is your favorite part of being a parent?
Probably watching him grow right before my eyes. He learns something new every week. It seems like it's happening so fast but it's still cool to witness.
Delivery is a scary, long, hard, and beautiful experience. How would you describe it?
This goes back to what I said about women's challenges being greater than ours. Witnessing that shows you how dangerous child birth can be, and that's why its such a beautiful thing when a child finally does enter the world. After seeing Cruz being delivered it was actually not as bad as I expected, but that's not to say that I would want to pull a chair up and keep watching it on repeat.

If you could pick one personality trait from both you and your sons mom, that you hope he gets. What would it be?
It would probably be our creativity.
The greatest and most challenging job ever is being a parent. What advice do you have for your son as he grows up?
I'm learning just like you so always keep an open mind, even to what I may tell you. Always care for others and be forgiving even though it may be hard, but sometimes you have to because people don't recognize their own ignorance yet. Always stand for what you believe in. Never let anyone trick you out of your position, mentally or physically.
